Fantastic mastering job! The Record sounds incredible, way better than the CD in my opinion. I'd say it's one of the best Pet Shop Boys albums out there. Every song is brilliant, even "Wedding in Berlin" ;-) .
I consistently enjoy every PSB album as they're perfect for easy, enjoyable listening. The record's pressing is top-notch, it lies perfectly flat, and it plays without any issues. The audio quality is superb, with impressive detail, and the packaging is of high caliber. I'd definitely recommend it. Played on: Technics SL-100C, Ortofon Concorde Music Bronze, Rega Fono MM MK5, Technics SU-G700M2, Yamaha NS-777, Vinyl Cleaner Pro-Ject VC-E
As anticipated from the other feedback, the audio quality of this version is quite bad.
My record didn't sound that great. I was wishing for a miracle to have grooves that you could actually hear. For most of the tracks on this album, it was like someone tossed a blanket over the speaker. Really dull and no "punch" to any of the songs, unlike earlier Pet Shop Boys vinyls.
'Only The Dark' is the standout track from 'Hotspot' - it's unique and the irregular rhythm is absolutely stunning! Overall, this album is surprisingly really good.
