Awesome album, though my copy is super noisy. Now I'd rather stream it. Not the first time I've been let down by Dead Oceans.
The audio quality is impressive. My version has barely any surface noise, and I'm quite particular about that. As for the music, I'd say it's their weakest album. It didn't hit the mark on first listen; I wasn't expecting such a poppy direction, but it's starting to grow on me. A few tracks are just unbearable, though—very formulaic with subpar vocals.

I was genuinely impressed by the quality of the dub they included with the tape. It's an amazing album, and the tape sounds fantastic.
I grabbed my copy yesterday from Tunes in New Jersey. The record is really quiet, with the bass and highs standing out, which makes the sound feel deep and complete. I'm really happy with it. I've been playing it on a Project/One turntable with an Audio-Technica AT3600L stylus. My speakers are Pioneer CS-99As.
