I'm not sure positive feedback is the norm around here, but I vividly recall feeling rather let down way back in '88 when this dropped. It was the first—and thankfully the last—subpar Cocteau Twins album, in my view. The occasionally high-pitched snare (like in "Carolyn's Fingers") just doesn't gel with the CT vibe, and most tracks come off a bit crude to me, lacking that usual finesse. The sole standout is the title track. They've proven they can do better, and they certainly did with "Heaven Or Las Vegas.
Perfect score for the sound quality, LOVE IT! However, Side A is all scratched up. Anyone else getting this issue?
I think I might've received a bad copy:( Purchased it brand new and there's a bunch of scratches on Side A. Also, the album doesn't have the depth I was hoping for. It's not dynamic enough. It's not unlistenable, but I expected more from a remastered, brand new album.
Wow, it's absolutely stunning right from the first few seconds of the opening track. The sound quality is just gorgeous.
Mine looks amazing but there's no download card in it. Has this happened to anyone else?
