This disc sounds absolutely fantastic. The album was mixed straight to digital using a Sony PCM 1610 processor, which is 44/16, so unless they remix the multis, you won't find better sound quality, making CD the ideal format for this album.
The progressive elements have vanished, swapped out for new synth beats and brief, unimaginative tracks. The lyrics are deliberately difficult to decipher, and honestly, it's all quite BLAH. I was nearly frightened after hearing their recent albums post this one's epic disaster (which, of course, was a commercial hit). Just stick with their debut and the ones leading up to this one...
Having only the Esoteric BluRay to compare with, this digital version sounds fantastic. The tonal balance and soundstage are superb, making it incredibly captivating. Like all MOV releases, it's perfectly pressed and silent, though it lacks inserts. The polylined inner sleeve is a nice touch.
Started to love it. Now among my top picks. Best, Line
I'm not blown away, but I gotta say, this might be the best the 'new' APP has sounded so far. Good work, though it's a bit too cold and digital for my taste. I bet the CD version sounds just like this.
