I suppose my enthusiasm has waned since I first purchased this album, although the sound quality is still impressive.
Excellent production. Really moving forward with a bit for all. A display of Mr. Parsons skills on both sides of the board.
Era arduo immaginare di poter migliorare un'opera già straordinaria in ogni aspetto, ma quando si tratta di grandi artisti e professionisti del calibro di Eric Woolfson, Ian Bairnson e, naturalmente, Alan Parsons, risultati del genere diventano possibili. Pertanto, lavorando ulteriormente sulla versione del 1976, a mio giudizio ci troviamo di fronte - con la nuova e definitiva versione del 1987 - a un capolavoro assoluto e completo: dall'argomento principale alla creatività compositiva, dalle sonorità alle voci, dal contributo orchestrale magistrale alla grafica di copertina. Tutto è semplicemente e incredibilmente impeccabile. Un album indispensabile per chi ama la Musica.
Every version of this album I've encountered has been great, and this one is no different. It's quite hushed, typical of Japanese pressings, and this particular one's on translucent vinyl. First time I've spotted this title in a single sleeve with the green cover, not a gatefold.
This copy is in near mint condition, and I must say, it's a dead ringer for a 4.8-5 on my setup. It absolutely dominates all three floors of my house at just a third of the volume on my MAC 1900, Technics MK2, Ortofon Concorde Q, and a refurbished pair of Cerwin Vega RE30’s. Zero unwanted noise and an outstanding soundstage. Cheers!
