The whole collection of The American Recordings is absolutely phenomenal, and whenever I listen, regardless of what I'm up to, I have to pause and just immerse myself in the music. I must say, the CDs are top-notch, they play seamlessly, the audio is superb, Johnny Cash's vocals are stunning, and the recordings are brimming with amazing energy. The booklets are well-made and visually appealing. My only desire would be to have a vinyl version, as it's the best for my ears. I'd definitely recommend it for a listen. Amazing album. This might just be his top American Recording series. Sounds crisp, pure, full of life.
What an incredible album, and I'm so thrilled he got to record these American tracks before his time was up. He'll always be among the best. This collection of fantastic covers and originals has solidified his legacy. The Bruce Springsteen cover on here is truly spectacular.
Hands down, this tops the high-res tracks on Apple Music and Tidal. Definitely worth a shot!
