What an amazing album! The sound quality is just phenomenal. It's so crisp and when you turn it up, the bass really hits hard. The record itself is nice and substantial, and the cover art is gorgeously designed. Sure, these are just edits and I would've loved to have the full versions, but I'm still having a blast listening to it. It's a great way to mark the 20th anniversary of the original album, 'American Life'.
Couldn't have said it better myself ↓↓↓. Truly one of Madonna's greatest 12" singles out there. The mixes on this release are top-notch. And since tracks B1, B2, and B3 all share a similar BPM with barely any gap between them, they flow together almost seamlessly. Imagine spinning this at a house party...
I've got all the 12" singles from American Life, except for the promos of Nobody Knows Me and Mother and Father, which are quite expensive. I'm really into these edits because they didn't ruin the best parts. They sound powerful and are mixed as one track, but the timing is perfect since they have almost the same BPM, making it feel like a smooth transition from one song to the next. Though, I've noticed Easy Ride seems mono.
Sadly, these are merely recent edits done by Warner's team. They weren't touched by the original mixers or programmers from 20 years back. Contrary to what 'Previously Unreleased' might suggest, they haven't been tucked away in a vault all this time, only to be released now.
The audio quality is truly amazing, and the remixes are quite enjoyable. I'm also a big fan of the packaging, the sleeve and inner sleeve are gorgeous. However, the price is a bit steep! I ended up paying 42€ for it, but I suppose that's the norm these days...
