This is an amazing pressing! The new 2017 stereo mix by Mark Linett certainly has a distinct vibe compared to the mono version, but experiencing the separation and clarity of each instrument is truly impressive. It does give the album more of a "studio" atmosphere rather than a home recording, which might appeal to some listeners. I already owned a mono mix of this fantastic album, but I couldn't resist trying out the new stereo mix. A significant upgrade is the overall sound quality—so many mono mixes on vinyl (especially from Capitol) just sound too murky. This mix is excellent overall, and the vinyl quality and mastering are top-notch. If you're searching for a clean, affordable, and perfectly pressed version of this album on vinyl, this one is going to be tough to beat. Highly recommended!
Man, I was out of my mind laughing! This one pales in comparison to the awesome true stereo mix from 2017, and the vinyl itself is decent. Gonna offload this soon now that I've got a newer version.
Though my copy's seen better days, looking like it's been through a frisbee game, the music still sounds flawless, with all parts in perfect harmony. I reckon a pressing in good shape would be just what you're looking for.
Consistent with other Beach Boys green label reissues, this release is truly impressive. The analog mastering from the original tapes delivers the cleanest sound possible for this album (Kevin Gray AP is also noteworthy). A complete collection of these reissues is a must-have for any Beach Boys enthusiast, including the shorter earlier albums.Listening setup:Micro Seiki DD-40Stanton 681EEE McIntosh MX110Marantz 8B Altec Lansing 604D
Wow, this remaster sounds so much better than the original. The sound quality is fantastic, really full and immersive. I'm really pleased with this version.
