Product Description

Aretha Franklin's "Who's Zoomin' Who?" is a soulful journey through the queen of soul's iconic sound, blending Motown grooves, jazz blues, and her signature powerhouse vocals. Released on January 1, 1985, under RCA Records, this album is a testament to Franklin's enduring talent and versatility. With a runtime of over two hours, it offers a rich tapestry of tracks that showcase her ability to infuse deep emotion and energy into every note.

The album kicks off with the infectious "Freeway of Love," a track that became an instant classic, followed by the smooth and sultry "Another Night." Each song is a masterclass in storytelling, from the empowering anthem "Sisters Are Doin' It for Themselves" to the heartfelt ballad "Until You Say You Love Me." Collaborations, like the one with Peter Wolf on "Push," add a dynamic layer to the album, highlighting Franklin's ability to adapt and innovate.

"Who's Zoomin' Who?" is not just a collection of songs but a celebration of Aretha Franklin's artistry. The extended mixes and remixes included in the album offer a deeper dive into her musical prowess, allowing listeners to experience the full range of her vocal abilities and creative vision. Whether you're a longtime fan or new to her music, this album is a must-listen for anyone who appreciates soulful, powerful, and timeless music.

This is a 1988 Repress released as a LP.

  • Aretha's Gem Needs Polish

    3 out of 5 stars
    HdilYoxOE19 January 2026United States🇺🇸

While I'm a huge fan of Narada Michael Walden's production work, his mixing and mastering decisions often leave much to be desired. This album desperately calls for a complete remix and remaster, starting from the ground up. The songs are absolutely phenomenal, and Aretha is truly at her best, but the audio quality is disappointingly sub-par.

  • Great Album, Skip "Push

    4 out of 5 stars
    bnilwecxumumouj13 September 2025United States🇺🇸

This disc sounds fantastic and is a great album overall, except for the terrible track "Push". There's a small part missing from the end of "Sisters", but it's not a big deal, I think it's like that on every copy.

  • Decent Sound, Distant Vocals

    5 out of 5 stars
    qrbidaxx17 July 2025United States🇺🇸

This pressing has a decent sound, but it's not exceptional. Aretha's vocals can come off as far away and somewhat buried in the mix on certain songs.

  • Loud 80s Mix, Clean Pressing

    3 out of 5 stars
    jyourohm9362 June 2024United States🇺🇸

The pressing is clean, but it's a typical loud 80s production. The dynamic range isn't the best, but the separation is alright and the vocals are well done.
