Product Description

Blur, the iconic British band, takes a bold new direction with their ninth studio album, "Think Tank," released on April 1, 2003, under Parlophone UK. This album marks a significant evolution in their sound, blending elements of Britpop, Madchester, and alternative rock into a cohesive and captivating collection of tracks.

"Think Tank" is a departure from Blur's earlier work, showcasing a more experimental and eclectic approach. The album opens with the pulsating "Ambulance" and continues with the infectious energy of "Out of Time" and "Crazy Beat." The title track, "Good Song," is a standout, featuring a catchy melody and introspective lyrics. The album also includes the politically charged "We've Got a File on You" and the exotic "Moroccan Peoples Revolutionary Bowls Club," which reflects the band's exploration of new musical territories.

With a runtime of 57 minutes, "Think Tank" is a journey through Blur's creative evolution. The album's diverse tracks, from the upbeat "On the Way to the Club" to the introspective "Gene by Gene," demonstrate the band's versatility and willingness to push boundaries. The closing track, "Battery in Your Leg," featuring the hidden gem "Me, White Noise," is a fitting end to an album that is both familiar and refreshingly new.

"Think Tank" is a testament to Blur's enduring talent and their ability to reinvent themselves. Whether you're a long-time fan or a new listener, this album offers a rich and rewarding listening experience.

This is a 2013 Reissue released as a 2LP set.

  • 2003's Pure Vinyl Essence

    5 out of 5 stars
    Yidonuv_Duisse15 August 2025United States🇺🇸

This initial UK/European edition truly encapsulates the unfiltered essence of the album as it debuted back in 2003. The audio is rich and distinct — warm, immersive, and robust yet never overly refined. It doesn’t aim to be “high-fidelity,” but it’s vibrant and well-balanced, just as these tracks should sound. The vinyl itself spins quietly, with no annoying surface disturbances, and the pressing feels sturdy and dynamic. Guitars resonate with space, the bass hums deep and consistent, and Damon’s voice shines through clearly without being lost in the blend.Unlike subsequent re-releases with bonus tracks or thick vinyl, this version stays simple and pure. That’s its appeal — it’s the album as it was intended to be experienced in 2003, unaltered and direct. A genuine first pressing worth keeping.

  • Dubbed Melancholy Experience

    5 out of 5 stars
    BUUWJLUAGUTINXGU25 February 2025United States🇺🇸

I picked this up when it first came out back in 2003, fantastic album. There's a certain melancholy to the tracks. I reckon Coxon only makes a brief appearance here too. After Gorillaz blew up, Albarn was getting more and more involved. It's quite the dubbed out experience, but that's what I appreciate about it.

  • Unlock Hidden Dance Track

    meozb13 February 2025United States🇺🇸

To access the secret track at the start of the CD, you gotta pause it on track 1. Then, hit rewind until you see minus 6:50. Press play and enjoy one of this album's more experimental dance tunes!
