Today I got my pressing, still unopened, and it's perfect. I graded it fully playable using a Dynavector DV-1s and tube equipment.
Lots of surface noise here. It's a shame since the mastering and music are superb. Monk is incredible. But due to the noisy pressing, I can't advise anyone to pick up this one.
My copy has a tiny bit of warping and occasionally sounds a tad dirty. I believe a thorough clean from a few spins would improve it, but I'm generally impressed with the mastering. It includes a QRP inner sleeve.
amazing sound.. perhaps a tiny crackle before cleaning ... i've got 17 monk lps .. this is awesome .. soundsmith stylus on rega turntable, kef speakers.
this jazz reissue album is the absolute worst i've purchased this year. every track is filled with pops, crackles, skips, and awful creaky sounds. stay away from it.
