Terribly loud vinyl. Non-stop background hiss even after thorough cleaning.
Audio quality is fantastic and performance is outstanding. It's one of those pressings that didn't leave anything to be wanted! Has incredible depth and a wonderful sense of weight and presence!
I snagged my copy during RSD Black Friday and have spun it countless times since, and it's absolutely fantastic. The pressing is top-notch, zero skips, pops, or anything of the sort. There's some static here and there, but that's just the environment. The performances are out of this world, AND it's a BG mono remaster straight from the original tapes, all for just 25 bucks...! It's a no-brainer, forget what the haters & complainers say!
I concur with other reviewers about the noise on this pressing. I'm happy to have it, but there are moments when it has quite a bit of pops and crackles. On the whole, the music quality is really good for a TV recording.
I'm really digging this vinyl pressing—it's perfectly flat, super quiet, and surprisingly dynamic considering it's sourced from a video broadcast. Monk's solo take on "Just A Gigolo" is absolutely fantastic as well. I'd definitely recommend this one.
