Product Description

Dive into the raw, unfiltered energy of The Stooges with their 2007 album "The Weirdness." This punk rock gem, released under Virgin Records, is a high-octane, 40-minute ride through the gritty, rebellious spirit of garage rock and proto-punk. With tracks like "Trollin'" and "Free & Freaky," The Stooges deliver a sonic assault that's as chaotic as it is captivating. The album's raw, unpolished sound is a testament to the band's punk roots, with each track oozing a sense of urgency and defiance. From the biting social commentary of "Greedy Awful People" to the dark humor of "The End Of Christianity," "The Weirdness" is a powerful statement from one of punk's most influential bands. Whether you're a long-time fan or a newcomer to The Stooges, this album is a must-experience piece of punk history.

This LP was released in 2007.

How do we keep reviews authentic?

Whether a review is positive, negative, or neutral, we always publish it. However, we screen every review to ensure it is authentic and free of profanity. These checks happen automatically, though a human occasionally steps in. We never pay for reviews.

  • Band's Fun, Listeners' Meh

    2 out of 5 stars
    0d2n8v816 October 2025United States🇺🇸

Sorta lacks oomph overall. It's got that sweet, genuine band vibe and I reckon the main goal was just for them to have a blast playing it. Woulda been neat if it hit as hard for us listeners as it did for them, but hey, whatever - it's their album, not ours.

  • Powerful Pressing, Paper Sleeves

    5 out of 5 stars
    myopifeliw17 September 2025United States🇺🇸

The pressing is solid. There's a bit of surface hiss, but it's mostly noticeable with headphones during the quieter parts. Don't go in expecting ultra-precision: THIS THING WILL HIT YOU LIKE A TRUCK, seriously powerful! Perfect for this (awesome) music, though I wouldn't mind a tad more clarity in the recording. Just a heads-up about those awful paper sleeves. But hey, Steve Albini, you crazy genius.

  • Iggy's Untouchable Awesomeness

    5 out of 5 stars
    SAVOPWQT29 August 2025United States🇺🇸

Iggy's untouchable when he's with the Stooges, pure awesomeness, bow down!

  • Stooges' Worst Knockoff

    1 out of 5 stars
    Xut_Ypurvuz14 November 2024United Kingdom🇬🇧

The lowest moment for the Stooges. Praise god they followed this up with Ready to Die, which was at least decent. Rumor has it Iggy wasn't into the songs but recorded the album as a favor to Ron Asheton. Not all favors are worth doing. The Stooges here sound like a cheap knockoff of themselves. Some of the lamest Iggy lyrics ever put to tape.
