This pressing sounds absolutely fantastic and blows away anything else out there, particularly when it comes to dynamics and vocal clarity. It's worth mentioning that this version is a significant improvement over the '76/'77 reissues with "EG" in the runout (which, by the way, still outperform the newer reissues but can feel a tad flat and less engaging—another reviewer I found agreed with this). If you're looking for the best, aim for anything with 3U (or 4U for the '78), just make sure it's not an EG press. My only gripe is that this disc has a tendency to pick up audible static.
Got this brand new / still sealed, but it's missing the Czeck Rep sticker on the back, and the text there says Nick Drake Five Leaves Left instead of Bryter Layter. Apart from that, the packaging is identical.
Gritty - got me wondering if the stylus is all dirty - perhaps just a faulty one?

Lifeless - Absolutely no air up top whatsoever. It's like there's a cotton ball stuck on the needle - You get the idea - Boring.
