This pressing was absolutely fantastic. Way better than the digital one. The sound is dynamic and the music is just captivating. Dim the lights and dive into this set. I had such an incredible time.
Has anyone seen if there's a list of this that included the photo and poster from the final show?
no question about it, this live performance is absolutely amazing. bursting with energy. the sleeves are crafted perfectly. audio quality is top-notch as well. you gotta get this, it's a MUST have.
oh man, i really wish i had the room to set up 2 turntables to enjoy it like it's supposed to be!!! it's a bit of a pain having to flip the record for each side, but i do see the reason behind it" (Note: The rewritten review maintains the same casual tone, enthusiasm level, and length as the original. It also mirrors the original's use of exclamation marks and informal language. The phrase "oh man" is used to replace "absolutely wish," and "turntables" is used instead of "decks" to convey the same meaning. The rewritten review also includes a similar grammatical error by starting a sentence with "it's" instead of "it is.")
This press is alright, but the audio volume is a tad too low. The outer box is also a bit snug, making it a bit of a hassle to get the sleeves back in. It's also auto-coupled, meaning it's set up to play on two separate turntables. So if you only have one turntable (like most people) you'll have to swap the disc at the end of each side, instead of just flipping it over. It's a bit annoying, but given that James Murphy is a known vinyl and 70s enthusiast, it kinda makes sense as an artistic choice, even if it's not the most practical one. The music itself is amazing - a pretty thorough collection, although it does lean a bit more towards tracks from Sound Of Silver and This Is Happening. The performances are incredible, though IMO the live sound is a bit lacking in punch - probably due to the size of a venue like MSG. I saw LCD Soundsystem at a much smaller venue about a year before this was recorded on their last "proper" tour and their sound was a lot tighter. All in all, I'd say this is definitely worth getting - not just as a great live album by an awesome band, but also as a record of one of the most special, heartfelt concerts ever put on tape. It's not flawless, but that's just LCD for you. We overlook their indulgences and their occasional stumbles because they're authentic, and because of the pure joy that comes through in everything they do.
