This album is absolutely brilliant, every track is a winner. The sound quality is top-notch, crisp and impactful. The cover, inner sleeves, and poster are all high-quality. I'd even go as far as to call it a classic from that time period.
Incredible album, top-notch throughout, not a single weak track. Audio is crisp and impactful. Excellent quality for the cover, inner sleeves and the poster. I'd even dare to call it a timeless album from that time.
LCD Soundsystem's follow-up album, SOUND OF SILVER, carries on the rock-electro-disco legacy of their debut, self-titled record, pushing it even further. For sure, "Get Innocuous!" starts with a New Wave synth riff that subtly shifts into some guitar work. "North American Scum" begins rather innocently, until it turns into a strange cheer for the whole continent. And "Someone Great" commences like a lost Kompakt track, before that bright bell after the vocal line reminds us we're still in the USA. They also make space for some funky political remarks ("Us V Them") and a heartfelt tribute to the city that never sleeps ("New York, I Love You But You're Bringing Me Down"). But the track that's (rightfully) received all the attention is "All My Friends." It's a comedown anthem for the entire rave generation--what happens when the party crowd has to mature. With that pulsing bassline and soft, yearning synth melody in the chorus (a big nod to New Order here), it seamlessly blends joyful nostalgia and sadness into a swirling sonic masterpiece. Deeply touching.
These sound incredible! Super quiet, powerful and impactful, with a clear and sharp sound. Totally worth the money!
Wow, the sound is INCREDIBLE. It's powerful, loud, and really clear. Not distorted at all. The packaging is absolutely fantastic. The only thing I picked up on is that the piano in All My Friends seems a tad off-key. Likely an issue on my end, though.
