I was a bit anxious about how my copy would turn out, but it ended up sounding awesome! There's just a bit of static and popping in the quiet parts before the telephone bit, but my main issue is that this version is "clean" ... girl, come on. That said, it doesn't sound terrible or completely kill the vibe, but still, lol.
This one's a bit of a mixed bunch. The box is really nice to look at, but you should keep the albums outside of it to avoid tearing. The sound quality is good, and the records are mostly well-pressed and clean.
This edition blows the black and blue vinyl versions out of the water! The packaging is top-notch, with excellent attention to detail. The slipcase is crafted from thick, glossy cardboard, and the albums themselves are encased in sturdy cardstock. The audio quality is impeccable, with no discernible imperfections. I wholeheartedly endorse this version.
The packaging and sleeves of the initial boxset are fantastic, no complaints here. I'm really happy they chose the standard edition cover art for TFM. The quality of TFM is alright, but there's a lot of distortion, especially on "Speechless," which I think might be due to inner groove distortion. I wish it had been mastered better, particularly for vinyl, as it sounds a bit flat and distorted in the higher pitch parts of the songs. Overall, I'm glad to have this on vinyl, especially since it's not a picture disc, but the pressing could definitely be improved. I haven't listened to "The Fame" yet, but I own the white pressing, which is amazing, so I hope this boxset is just as good.
it's visually appealing, however the audio quality is not up to par. There's a lot of hissing and crackling sounds, and it's more noticeable during the softer parts, especially in tracks like 'Bad Romance' and similar songs.
