• Immersive Sound, Stunning Presentation

  This record is fantastic! It's got a huge, spacious sound stage, powerful bass that really hits you, and vocals that are crystal clear right in the middle. Definitely one of his most underappreciated albums. I'm also a big fan of the silver ripple vinyl color. Plus, the gatefold cover is stunning with its foil lettering and spot varnish, top-notch presentation overall.

• Vinyl Mastering Disaster

  Without a doubt, this is among the poorest, possibly even the absolute worst vinyl mastering I've ever encountered. The sound quality is comparable to an aged cassette tape. There's a complete lack of dynamics. Every track comes across as a gentle, murky blob of noise. The album itself is rather good, but you'd be better off with the CD or mp3 version. After recently giving it a listen on Spotify, I can attest that it sounds considerably better.

  it's not awful, but you can clearly tell it's pressed from a digital source, especially in the EQ and compression departments. as someone else mentioned, it's got a ton of bass, drowning out a lot of the other stuff in the mix. my vinyl's a bit warped too, making my tonearm jump around like crazy. the music ain't as good as the one before it, but it could've been much worse.

  This record version is a tad better than Part 1, but it's still not flawless. The dynamics are improved, less muted, and not as flat, but it still has that digital sound and the bass is way too pronounced on most songs. That said, it's still pretty enjoyable to listen to from start to finish. I didn't have any problems with IGD or background noise, so there's not much to gripe about. The LPs themselves still look and feel a bit cheap, but that embossed gatefold jacket is pretty darn awesome. If you're a big fan of this album and want it on vinyl, I'd say it's worth grabbing both this and Part 1. These are probably the only pressings you'll see for a while.
