Whether a review is positive, negative, or neutral, we always publish it. However, we screen every review to ensure it is authentic and free of profanity. These checks happen automatically, though a human occasionally steps in. We never pay for reviews.
Just another case of a brazilian budget pressing. The cover's basic and flimsy, no gatefold or even a little insert. At least the mastering's decent.
You can't go wrong with either of the UK editions. I own the 1974 EMI copy, but with tracks this magnificent and stunning, audio quality takes a backseat... I've yet to come across a live rendition of Starless that's subpar...even when they're slightly off, and that applies to both versions of the song. I typically gather original US pressings, but with ATLANTIC acts, Led Zeppelin and these guys, they're quite alike if both US and UK versions are available, which isn't always the case.
My one has a lyrics sheet included.
this is a super duper wackadoodle tittilating album if ya catch my drift.
Crackle, hiss, scratch. I'm truly disappointed. I had high hopes for this Wilson 200g pressing, expecting it to bring me immense joy. But, as we all know, this record has plenty of quiet moments, and I certainly don't want it to sound worse than my original copy, which I've had since '74 and has been my faithful companion throughout my record collecting journey. Honestly, I'd rather spin my OG because I can't fully appreciate the Fripp/Wilson remaster due to the damn surface noise being so bloody distracting. And yes, my tracking force is spot on (Technics SL3300 from '78), my anti-skate is perfectly set (Ortofon Blue), and I listen to vinyl all day, including classical records with lots of silence. I know my turntable setup like the back of my hand. Grrr!
