Ellen Allien – Stadtkind | Stadtkind is an incredible techno tune, it's got that pure chills factor. Ellen Allien is a name that takes me back to the early days of Berlin, the Berlin of yesteryear. Her reputation is global, and for all the right causes. A genuine asset to the industry, Ellen has achieved extraordinary things in and beyond DJing, electronic music, and the club scene, all while maintaining a stunning, professional, and refined image. Keep it up, Ellen. 🖤🖤🖤
Ellen Allien's debut album is fantastic! Her unique voice beautifully complements the minimal beats, making this record a top pick for me. She's got a sound like no other, and every track is produced to perfection.
Track 4 is the one. Hit play, loop it endlessly. This track still sends shivers down my spine after over two decades. It transports me straight to Berlin of the late 90s and early 2000s. I'll never tire of this song.
Fantastic album that's top-notch from start to finish. It's got a really cool minimal tech-house vibe, almost like an industrial sound. Definitely worth checking out!!
Ellen Allien's first album, _Stadtkind_, released way back in 2001, has stood the test of time remarkably well. The gritty intensity of "Send" packs a punch like a heavy industrial hammer, yet she can craft atmospheric soundscapes just as effectively, as heard in "Fenstermusik." She strips things down to the bare essentials on the rhythmic track "Shorty," while going all out on "Data Romance." Sure, this album might not have the refined touch of her later releases ("Licht" does feel a tad bare), but that's not necessarily a bad thing—it's more a sign of growth. After all, who can resist a track like "Wolken Ziehen"?
