  The sound quality on these tracks is all over the place! I'd bet the single for Sounds of Silence is way better than the LP, but even between songs, the sound and clarity seem to change. Side B is pretty decent overall, but on side A, the title track, Blessed, and Kathy's Song don't sound so hot. Maybe my copy is just worn out, but it's a super quiet 1A/1A. I'm wondering if it's the mix, and if the stereo mix of those songs shows more detail, or if they still sound bad compared to the rest of the album and/or the 45 single versions.

  Timeless album. This 1966 mono pressing delivers a wonderfully authentic sound, capturing that rich, warm analog tone that only valve studio gear can produce. It might not be as crisp as the later stereo releases, but it's absolutely delightful in its own right. For that true 60’s experience, you can’t go wrong with this one.

  It's becoming increasingly difficult to come across a pristine copy of the first mono pressing of this incredible album. If you manage to find one, you're in for a real delight. It's the only way to truly experience this masterpiece.
