Typical Mobley quality. Fantastic recording. My version is superb. Nice and smooth with minimal noise. The mastering's a bit upfront but it works. Really pleasurable listen.
This is an outstanding pressing, at least from what I can tell from my copy. The record sounds incredible, possibly one of the best sounding Blue Note releases out there. Grab your favorite headphones, pick your drink, and get comfortable to hear every little detail pouring out from Art Blakey’s drum set. And Mobley is just so easy to listen to, no flashy technical stuff, just great bluesy playing and clever melodic ideas.

The mastering on this classic recording is absolutely stunning. Each instrument is crisply captured against a very hushed backdrop, YET I've received three consecutive copies that all have a series of loud crackles right at the start of Paul Chambers' bass solo on the main track. The same crackles in the exact same place on all three copies. Must be a faulty stamper or something similar.
This one sounds way better than most other 75th Anniversary pressings out there. But don't get me wrong, it's not flawless. It's just pretty good. If you can't afford to spend hundreds on the MM reissue, this version will do just fine.
