stunning trans-blue vinyl, though it's missing the re-done troops of doom track from the cd version, the album still slays. It sounds fantastic but you'll probably need to tweak your EQ settings. It might not hit as hard on basic setups.
OH. MY. GOD. iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii. Unbelievable sound quality, hands down the best I've ever experienced. This is Brazilian thrash metal that came out before Burzum's debut. Haha, maybe they inspired Varg Vikernes to be a more rebellious nonconformist! Though I have no idea what I'm talking about, I'm just throwing words out there.
I've got this album in a few different formats: the original vinyl, the German Shark vinyl, the first US CD, a remastered CD, and the first Japanese CD edition. This version I'm listening to now is just as good as any of them. Truth be told, this album was recorded and mastered poorly in most versions. The Japanese CD, APCY-8039, is the one that sounds the best straight out of the box. Most copies of this album are kinda muffled and dull. But the Japanese release? It's bright and clear. If you turn up the treble on the US CD, it sounds pretty much the same.
Among my top Sepultura records. Granted, the production isn't great but that's what gives this album its distinctive sound compared to their other works. Despite the production quality, it's loud and full-bodied, not weak at all. The only issue I have is that the cymbals appear to be mixed in mono while the rest is in stereo. The tracks and performances make up for any shortcomings. It's a classic thrash metal album that everyone should have in their collection.
I've got a Matrix unit, it's the SNB SHARK006A2 model. On one side, it's a Shark 006 32 ip snb, and on the other side, it's labeled as side 2.
