This pressing is quite poor, the sound quality is muffled and lacks depth. I'd have been better off with the CD... Or maybe finding some FLAC files online. The music's alright I suppose but it's not as good as IRE (the album before this one).
December 2018, alright, even though these guys share my love for the same bands, I've never really connected with their music. I've given it a shot, even played this album multiple times. It's just not for me - still not a fan of most of the vocals, but there are some solid tracks and a few cool riffs. August 2019, 'Prey' is a pretty alright song. I also picked up on some more nuances this time around - there's more diversity in the songs than I initially thought. Some nice shifts in tempo. 'The Void' has a really cool riff and the vocals aren't bad at all. 'Shadow Boxing' is quite intriguing and 'The Colour of Leaving' is a haunting way to end the album. Bumped up the rating. 3.5 out of 5.
I'm curious about the 'black blob' on the vinyl. I received a piece with the same color as yours, and it's really ticking me off.
I gotta say, I was super pumped to spin this album on vinyl, snatched it up from my local shop right away. But man, was I let down when I saw it had some pretty bad scratches and scuffs, so both sides have these super noticeable clicks. Sure, it's metalcore, so on most tracks you won't hear it, but during those quiet moments, it's just so irritating. I'm really bummed, wouldn't recommend this version. But hey, maybe you'll get a better copy than me.P.S. The record itself is a masterpiece!
Got this at the Killswitch Engage and Parkway Drive "Collapse The World Tour 2019" show
