Fantastic album and among my favourites by Jimmy McGriff, right up there with Mean Machine and Electric Funk.
Now, this ain't my top pick from McGriff's discography, but it's certainly one of his more intriguing works. He swaps the organ for piano and clavinet now and then, which adds a fresh twist. 'Sweet Love' throws in some vocals, a few tracks are dressed up with strings, and while some parts feel a bit dated, the overall groove is still on point. McGriff shines with some killer solos, keeping things engaging on tracks like 'Space Cadet', the title cut, and the charming 'Big Booty Bounce'. This white label promo copy packs a punch with its deep bass and a rich, full sound. My copy spins like a dream, not a scratch or pop to be heard.
