Keith Jarrett's most favorite album of mine. The opening track is incredibly moving, with powerful crescendos that lead to a totally unique conclusion every time. These endings beautifully paint a full picture in my mind, packed with conflict (among people and against nature), triumph, sadness, and the inescapable end. It's rare for a piece to distract my mind from musical critique, but this track does so effortlessly.
