This edition looks fantastic, with a perfect pressing and excellent attention to detail in the packaging. Mine arrived spotless, which is quite remarkable given the number of cardboard cuts. I completely agree with reducing plastic and cardboard usage in daily items, but since records are (mostly) highly valued collectibles—I own hundreds of shellacs over a century old—I expected thicker, glossier cardboard and laminated inner sleeves, as we know vinyl should be stored. Sleeves just a millimeter larger would make it easier to slide the vinyl out. I imagine these packaging issues are related to weight and international sales. Nothing to complain about the track selection; it spans over 30 years, and it's impossible to please everyone. Well done, Alex, still waiting for a visit to Argentina ; ). P.S.: The vinyl color is closer to the images on the limited edition page https://www.discogs.com/release/32272776-The-Orb-Orboretum-The-Orb-Collection and not to the hype image that appears when googling it—more washed-out, lighter colors.
Stunning, a must-have compilation for any The Orb fan! The overall look, complete with its gorgeous packaging, is simply breathtaking. For me, the standout track is the previously unreleased on vinyl, utterly mesmerizing 98.7 Kiss FM mix of “2Daze In Dub”. The only minor letdown in this, I must stress, otherwise phenomenal release is that they went with the Ambient Mix 1 of "Little Fluffy Clouds" instead of the far superior Pal Joey Cumulonimbus Mix from the US promo-only The Orb - Little Fluffy Clouds. The latter was also a huge hit at David Mancuso - The Loft. Still, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, an incredibly well-produced 4-vinyl collector's set! 😊👍👍.
