4 stars 'cause it's a tad crackly (disc 2 for me, at least) but otherwise absolutely brilliant! The sound is so rich and expansive; it's incredibly immersive for such a low-key album. The Avett Brothers are pretty darn good, if you ask me.
Once again, the Avetts have delivered a top-notch pressing, no pops or crackles here. I just got mine, it's a solid, flat disc and the sound is crisp and clear. I reckon these guys wouldn't put their name on anything less than great, that's just my take, and I'm holding onto it till they show me otherwise.
This isn't the best pressing, to be honest. Every side's got quite a bit of crackle. But there's something about this album that I just can't stay away from. It sounds incredible if you can overlook the imperfections.
