I'm new to The Avett Brothers and their unique sound, but I'm really digging it! Quite impressive!
While it might not be as rich as their later works, this is hands-down my top Avett Brothers album. Tracks like Colorshow, Sixteen In July, and Famous Flower Of Manhattan are nearly flawless. The energy in songs such as Talk On Indolence, Dancing Daze, Gimmeakiss, and the aforementioned Colorshow is simply irresistible. The addition of cello and Rick Rubin's production later on only enhanced their sound. In fact, everything they've released since this album might even surpass their earlier work, but there's something uniquely captivating about this one. The sound quality is excellent, and my copy is beautifully quiet, delivering a fantastic listening experience from start to finish. I only wish I'd had the foresight to grab a copy 11 years ago, but I'm absolutely thrilled with it now.
