Following what Stanz said earlier, this release isn't as terrible as the rumors and ratings suggest. I'm particularly fond of the B-side. It's got that post-Pet Sounds vibe and is a real pleasure to listen to. Side A, though, feels like a step back to their earlier work and isn't as captivating since none of the tracks match up to the originals. But hey, it's not bad either.
There are some standout tracks here. The album truly excels in spots like "She's Got Rhythm" and "My Diane," but it's weighed down by unnecessary filler such as "Kona Coast" and "Belles Of Paris" that shouldn't have seen the light of day.
This one's a real dud.
Fantastic way to expand my music library. I've got this album on vinyl, cassette, and even a double CD. I've spotted some slight tweaks in the tracks' mixes, like in Peggy Sue, Come Go With Me, and Winds of Change.
Kevin Gray's mastering truly shines, even at this early stage! The record sounds incredible, despite the varied tracks. It's absolutely worth it just for My Diane and Match Point of Our Love!
