This album features an outstanding rendition of "New Age," particularly the final minute or two. The audio quality is as it is, but the tracks and the delivery are absolutely fantastic.
As this marks Lou Reed's final show with the Velvets, it's a historically significant live capture. It's a hoot listening to folks like Jim Carroll chatting in the back, inquiring about beverages; I reckon he was mic'ing the gig.
Captures the disintegration of an iconic band: Lou Reed's final show as a member, delivered with his usual detached demeanor. Low-fidelity but a historically significant recording. Definitely worth your attention.
My version has that runout but it's got a misprint on the two SIDE TWO tags
The sound quality on this record is fantastic, and the disc colors are really cool too! Plus, I didn't notice any surface noise at all !
