During the early 70s, Jimmy McGriff stepped away from the music scene, leading Sonny Lester to compile this album from sessions held in 1966 and 1972. Standout tracks are "Tiki" and "Old Grand Dad", while "What's Goin' On" and the title track are notably funky and smooth. This pressing is in great shape, with both sides sounding clear. The 1972 tracks, in particular, have some fantastic, crisp bass lines that really stand out. My copy plays well, with just a hint of light surface noise here and there.
