• Crackling but Lovely Trumpet

  This pressing is alright, though there's a bit of crackling, but that's probably because of the discs' magnetic sensitivity and impurities. If these discs were handled with more care, that would've been great. But the tracks themselves are fantastic! The stereo separation works well, and Chet's trumpet is as subtle as always. This double LP is a lovely surprise. Tested on Thorens TD124 and Nagaoka MP200, PL400 amplifier and PL3500 preamplifier, JBLL220 speakers.

  I recently purchased this record and I must admit, I'm a tad let down. It's far from a flawless pressing. There's some distortion and surface noise in certain parts. Side A has a slight warp, maybe due to the packaging? I'm not a pro, but that packaging was really tight. Fortunately, no skips. On the bright side, the content, particularly the booklet, is a nice addition. Apart from the audio issues, the music is gorgeous.
