Incredible pressing! I'm not familiar with the "tomato" version, but this one is absolutely stunning. The soundstage is vast, it's incredibly dynamic, crystal clear, and completely silent. I'm thrilled with my purchase.
I purchased this edition a few days back and my copy sounds amazing. Really pleased with it.
Wow, this record sounds amazing! The 3D effect is insane and the soundstage is massive compared to those hi-res streaming files. Couldn't be happier!
The 2022 edition is anything but "a Disaster". My copy (sent from jpc Germany) is spotless, perfectly centered, and the vinyl is incredibly flat. There's no surface noise during quiet moments or anywhere else, and the mastering is fantastic and a real joy to listen to. No dull compressions, excellent soundstage, great highs, and a warm, powerful bass. Compared to the original Type IV Metal Tape, this vinyl release sounds even better. No regrets here. (Played on a complete 80's Philips Black Tulip setup with the GP412 and original D67 stylus). I reckon negative feedback on this release probably comes from owners of the first pressing who want to maintain the value of their investment.
I must say, this Japan Jimco Records edition of Kiss my Axe is fantastic! I'm familiar with the Tomato (598.1078.20 Europe 1991) and Tomato (R2 79751 US 1991) releases, but neither of them can quite match the superb In-Akustik (INAK 700782 Germany 1998) version. This Japanese version has a distinct sound compared to the In-Akustik one, but it's certainly not inferior. Kudos for this amazing Japan CD! By the way, does anyone out there have any of the vinyl versions? It'd be great to hear your thoughts on them!
