This album sounds fantastic. The groove on the floor is nice and quiet. In my copy, both LPs aren't perfectly flat. They're still playable, but each has a slight warp, which is a letdown considering it's 180g vinyl. As for the music, these well-known tunes aren't turned into typical "elevator music." Al Di Meola and his acoustic guitar give them a fresh spin. Even the biggest Beatles fans will need to listen carefully to catch the melodies here. At least, that's been my take while playing this set on my turntable. It's a really enjoyable listen, though it might not be everyone's cup of tea if they're looking for Lawrence Juber's take on these songs. His versions are great too, but this album isn't about that. There's a much stronger jazz feel to it.
Absolutely quiet, perfectly flat, superbly crafted album. A must-have for any collection.
An incredible take on some Beatles' timeless tracks, a few of which you might not even know. The CD's packaging is straightforward yet beautifully executed, featuring some fantastic images. It sounds amazing.
This is an outstanding record in every way. Though some may roll their eyes at a jazz album dedicated to Lennon and McCartney tunes, Al Di Meola’s simple acoustic take creates a fantastic listen. Playing at 45 rpm, the sound quality is top-notch, just shy of those fancy audiophile editions.
