There's a bit of distortion on a couple of tracks that's somewhat irritating but not too severe, all on the right channel. All three LPs are a fantastic listen musically, with Kid A & Amnesiac standing out as the highlights for me. No warping on any of the discs, and the noise level is quite low with great dynamics and detail throughout. Highly recommend if you can find a low/no distortion copy! I snatched this up as soon as it dropped. I missed out on the original releases, so this was a fantastic chance. Two of my all-time favorites, so I took the plunge and spent my well-earned cash. But let me tell you, it's now April, and after over a month of radio silence from their support, they've finally said that after some testing by their engineers, the issues I reported couldn't be replicated, and that there's no stock left, so I'd have to send them back for a full refund. Well, that's exactly what I'll do. Not only did I experience the common distortions that everyone's been talking about, but I can confidently say that all three of my discs are defective. Surface noise is all over the place. Loud pops, clicks, and some subtler but still noticeable distortions. It's a gorgeous package, no doubt about it. But let's be real, we're here for the music, right? I won't be keeping this one just because it might become a rare item and cost a fortune later. I expected Radiohead and their merch team to prioritize quality above everything else, not just create a beautiful package for collectors and nothing else.
I recently received a new red vinyl copy from XL Air, which included all three discs in a fresh package. They say it's from a new pressing, but I'm still facing the same problems on HTDC. Has anyone else encountered this, or is it just my bad luck? I've seen others mentioning their issues were fixed, but did you receive a complete new set or just discs A and B (Kid A)?
Incredible triple album, fantastic packaging and a superb pressing. No problems. A must-have for any audiophile.
Mine arrived today, and the Kid A record is completely unplayable. It looks like side two was slid across asphalt... lots of very deep scratches, and the outer edges of the record are missing large chunks of vinyl. Huge disappointment.
