  This album's appeal hinges on your fondness for the original tracks. "Can't Run But" doesn't quite hit the mark here, but that's because I'm captivated by the mesmerizing original from THE RHYTHM OF THE SAINTS, featuring Uakti. However, “Darling Lorraine” and “Pigs, Sheep and Wolves”, two of the four songs originally from YOU'RE THE ONE, shine brilliantly in these new renditions. The vinyl quality is outstanding, boasting a dynamic range that's rich and full, with a wide, immersive soundstage. My copy's in mint condition, pristine and clean, with hardly any surface noise to speak of.

  This album breathes new life into quite a few lesser-known tracks, infusing them with a delightful bluesy flavor. I must admit, I'm still not a fan of "Pigs, Sheep and Wolves" in any version, but the rest of this record is a pleasant listen. The sound quality is a bit noisy, but not unbearable. It appears that Simon's albums from around the time of "Capeman" onward haven't received the best pressings, leaving something to be desired in terms of audio quality.
