In my opinion, this is Killers' finest album yet! It's got a completely unique feel compared to their earlier work. Every track seems like it could be the anthem for a specific feeling.
Coming out in the middle of Covid has held back the buzz for this album, which is a shame because it's packed with some truly amazing songs. Tracks like the title track, 'Blowback', 'Caution', and 'My Own Soul's Warning' are absolute gems. It's a delight on vinyl too, with a fantastic soundstage and super clean, flat, and quiet pressing.
I gotta say, this is an amazing album on vinyl. It's one of those records that definitely sounds fuller and more vibrant than the digital copy. I wasn't too impressed with the digital version, but man, I'm really happy I picked up the vinyl.
I'm truly delighted with this album, it's been a pleasant surprise. Personally, I'd rank this among their finest works; there's just something about it that resonates with me, unlike 'Wonderful Wonderful'. The vinyl record itself is excellent, arriving perfectly flat, with no static, crackles, or pops, and no warping. While I'd need to do a side-by-side comparison, it seems to sound quite distinct from the CD version to me, less compressed overall. I shouldn't have to leave a review just because an album sounds good and is presented properly, but it's such an uncommon experience for me these days that I felt I had to share.
