I made it to the close of Side C. This is the peak of commercial Busta. "Pass The Courvosier" didn't need a remix, the original LP version is great just the way it is. The Neptunes' production is all over this album, though Dre's contribution was the perfect tease for Busta's masterpiece (so far) in "The Big Bang". But the real gem here is Dilla, with that bass line on "Make It Hurt", which even got me grooving, and I'm usually just a head-nod kind of guy. This isn't Busta at his most lyrical, he's not rhyming "nigga" or "bitch" with every other word, so it's far from my favorite. I'm glad that "Isn't what it is now" isn't the be-all and end-all for Busta's legacy. If this is what happens when Busta kicks it in the West, it's good for hip hop, 'cause he's a Beast in the East.
The audio is fantastic... it's exactly like the CD version I recall from way back in 2001. This is without a doubt a must-have Busta Rhymes album.
