As a devoted Journey enthusiast, I must say, this album is a huge disappointment. It's nowhere near as exceptional as Eclipse or Revelation. What a letdown to conclude their journey like this.

Turn the album around and you'll spot the track list, which, let's be honest, might just have the least creative song titles ever. It's a pretty good hint of what you're in for with this album.
Journey's Freedom Mix Fails

Unfortunately, the mix on this album isn't up to par. As a huge Journey fan, I was really excited for this Freedom release. However, the first reviewer nailed it—the high frequencies and higher-range sounds just aren't great. It's not awful, but it's not as good as it should be. The band put this album together online from various locations during COVID and mixed it themselves instead of having it mastered professionally. I'm not sure if they even played the songs together in a studio. They definitely didn't perform any of them live on their 2022 Freedom Tour. It's a real shame because this album has some fantastic songs. But the sound quality is lacking, in my opinion and many others'. The brightness seems a bit muted. There's a lot of discussion online about reviews and details regarding Freedom. Maybe they'll do a remix someday?
