Amazing edition: 1.) Audio quality is top-notch - expected when Ryan K Smith is at the controls, mastering straight from the original tapes. 2.) Donny Hathaway in Mono - just wait till you experience that bass hit on this bad boy! 3.) Feels premium - solid, heavy tip-on cover. VMP nails it again!
I'd like to join in the applause for this release. It's an album I know like the back of my hand, but it's as if I'm experiencing it for the first time. I don't have some high-end setup, but boy, does this one take flight! I've only just stumbled upon Speakers Corner and they're definitely going to be the death of my wallet, but I've got a strong feeling it'll all be worth it in the end!
Incredible, incredible, incredible. I'm truly blown away. I've had this album on CD for over a decade, and when I found out VMP (Vinyl Me Please) was selling a vinyl version, I snatched it up right away. The sound quality is phenomenal. I'm absolutely impressed. The audio quality from this pressing is way better than the regular CD version. Listening to this 1970 recording is like being in Mr. Hathaway's studio session. Just shut your eyes and picture it while the record plays. Definitely grab this pressing if you can. It's pressed on (AAA) lacquers cut from the original mono analog tapes by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound. 180g black audiophile vinyl pressed at QRP, Salina, KD plus a cool pocket-sized booklet with exclusive listening notes by Oliver Wang inside the album cover. Don't miss out on it.
this is a great, quiet and well-made version of an awesome soul album from the 70's. if you come across any good copy of this album, grab it and turn it up loud!
INCREDIBLE.....There's not much to dislike about the superb Speakers Corner 33, but when I compared it side by side with another identical deck into one tube phono pre with two inputs, this one came out on top. It boasts a slightly smoother, deeper, and richer sound. The soundstage might be a tad narrower, but the richness makes it worth the price. If the SC is a 9/10, this has to be a 10/10. Flipping sides is a hassle, but I don't mind when the sound is this good. And despite the price of the AP, I feel it's justified.
