The art and packaging here are absolutely stunning, and the sound on the discs is crystal clear and perfect, no hiss and AMAZING quality. Totally worth every single penny.
I'll join the chorus of others complaining. Absolute worst packaging I've ever seen. This is my third one bought from Amazon UK. I thought, if the packaging's this bad, might as well exploit Amazon's free returns. Every copy's corners are messed up by the shrink wrap. The second one had smudges where the picker must've handled it too roughly - or so I assumed. Cardboard's so easy to damage and leave marks. Vinyl and Blu-ray content are fantastic, but the packaging feels cheap and tacky. What gives? I've been collecting Björk's work since '93 and usually, her releases are well-thought-out. 5/5 for content, 0/1 for packaging.
Amongst Björk's discography (I've got most) this one truly shines on vinyl. The sound quality is spot on, the pressing and cutting are flawless. There's a bit of vocal fuzz here and there but it's so infrequent it's hardly noticeable, actually quite creative. The 180g weight is, for a change, well worth it. It's an adventure, but you'll be grinning by the finale!
In the realm of physical media, Björk's releases are truly in a league of their own. The packaging of this live album is absolutely stunning, showcasing her profound reverence for both her art and her audience. The robust, glossy tri-fold cover (yes, even the inside is adorned with prints!), the decorated inner sleeves, and the included credits—it's all just impeccable. The audio quality is equally commendable. A flawless package, offered at a remarkably reasonable price point. Hey there, record companies, this is how it's done! My sole criticism is that the cover image seems a tad unremarkable (considering the cutting-edge visuals of the performance), but that's merely my personal take.
Who's behind all these negative reviews for every version of this release? 💀 Well, I was fortunate enough to catch the show live, and this pressing is just fantastic. The trifold and the gorgeous photos are top-notch. You can really hear that the mix and mastering were handled with care. The vinyls are quiet and sound great. I might grab the Blu-ray too, but this is already a stunning piece on its own.
