While the album does have that Lo-fi, retro vibe, the vinyl's mastering is truly awful. The record I received was filthy with loads of junk from the paper inner sleeve. After giving it a good clean in the Degritter, it looked fantastic. Sadly, it still doesn't sound great. It's like they mastered it in a sardine can. What a letdown for such an awesome album.
Visited my neighborhood record shop, picked up the album, dashed out, hopped in my car, and hurried back home. I put it on the turntable and then spent the night grooving with my better half. Absolutely amazing album and pressing. Definitely justified the wait.
I'm all about the tunes, but my version at least sounds all muddy and terrible—nowhere close to the quality these awesome songs are worth.
