In my opinion, Bricolage is just as incredible as Supermodified. It's a breezy, jazzy sea of orchestration that I've come to adore and anticipate from Amon Tobin.
The "Creatures" track on the first Bricolage CD isn't the same as the digital one. The CD has a extended beginning, but it's missing the spoken bits, whereas the digital one (which feels more gloomy overall) includes them.
In my humble opinion, Bricolage is just as incredible as Supermodified. It's a breezy, jazzy sea of orchestration that I absolutely adore and have come to anticipate from Amon Tobin.
Initially, I wasn't blown away by this album. It came across as a chaotic mix of noises, like a live jam session that wasn't all that impressive. But by my third spin, it started to click, and I realized how mistaken I'd been. This is a meticulously crafted and well-structured album. It's the rough edges and vast array of sounds that make it seem like it's being made up on the spot. Or, more precisely, the unpolished, non-traditional vibe that each track exudes. Upon closer listening, the album pulls you in with its sheer ambiance; at times gloomy, other times frenetic, and sometimes joyful. Each track is a standout in its own way. Highly recommended.
