This album is fantastic and sounds amazing. I'm a huge fan of 80s Mercury pressings. I've never had any issues with them, and they always deliver great sound quality. My copy is in excellent condition. Side A is awesome, featuring tracks like Runaway and Roulette. While Runaway is a classic, I personally prefer Roulette. Side B is just as good. I particularly enjoy the intro guitar riff in Come Back. It's an incredible debut album from an iconic band and their frontman. The downside is, I believe they might have been forgotten if it weren't for their later work. Don't misunderstand, it's a great album, but would it have stood the test of time? I'm not so sure. It's similar to Kiss and their first album; without their subsequent releases, I think they might have faded into obscurity.
One of the most terrible vinyl experiences I've ever had. It began with the packaging. Upon opening, I struggled to remove the record from the inner sleeve, as it was completely stuck and glued in place. I had to rip the sleeve just to get the record out. Despite this, I played it, and I must admit, the first four tracks on side A were quite good. However, Love Lies was a disaster – it sounded like a popcorn maker and was utterly dreadful. When I flipped the record to play side B, I noticed that Love Lies and Get Ready were heavily scratched (likely due to the glued inner sleeve). As expected, Get Ready sounded horrible, and Come Back skipped six times... What a letdown. This album is fantastic, but this pressing is the absolute worst vinyl experience one can have.
The music on this album is fantastic! The band should totally make more copies and restock it. I'm pretty sure someone snatched up the entire stock from the first and second pressings and is hiding them in their secret lair, 'cause it sold out both times in just one night!
Plenty of awesome songs and a solid pressing. The vinyl had a bunch of dust specks, so I gave it a quick clean before playing. It sounds fantastic on my setup.
My unit shares the same features, yet it bears a sticker on the back's plastic wrapping stating: "MADE IN CANADA 48694 1237 1". I'm not certain if this warrants a separate listing. After all, there's a distinction between Made in Netherlands and Made in Canada.
We don't have a live price right now, but stock fluctuates daily. You can check for hidden stock on Amazon directly, or let us alert you as soon as it is available.
