Sadly, the latter part of each side is a letdown. There's a bunch of distortion and the vocals and guitars sound all muddy. The first tracks are awesome, might be a faulty pressing
Just got it, but it skips a lot on some songs when I first played it. My setup's fine, other albums sound awesome. I made sure it was super clean
The appropriateness or inappropriateness of choosing to redo the bass and drums (with new musicians) and swap them for the original (all due to spite/bad blood/legal issues) isn't the point here. That was a childish, foolish, petty, and dirty act that never should've happened. But, the outcome doesn't take away from the brilliance of this album. The re-recorded instruments aren't messed with by adding annoying modern touches. It all still sounds as strong as when it first came out. Sure, it's better to listen to the album as it was originally recorded (with the original musicians), which you can do in remastered form on LP or CD now; but if you're new to the awesomeness of Blizzard of Ozz and come across this CD version for a couple of bucks, go ahead and buy it and live happier ever after.
