Among my all-time favorite albums from one of my most cherished periods of Ozzy Osbourne's discography, the Jack E Lee era, which introduced me to my beloved Ozzy anthem and personal favorite track, "Bark At The Moon." This album is absolutely fantastic, showcasing a wide range of emotions and styles, from the utterly wild title track to the hauntingly beautiful "Your No Different From Me" with its stunning harmonies and synth work. It also features classic metal anthems like "Now You See Me" or "Rock N Roll Rebel", fast-paced tracks such as "Centre Of Eternity", and more avant-garde pieces like "Spiders" or "Waiting For Darkness". The production is crisp and quintessentially 80s, with lyrics touching on themes of rock, monsters, love, and political/social issues. The only song that doesn't quite resonate with me is "So Tired", as it's not really my thing. Overall, I absolutely adore this album and would highly recommend it to anyone into classic metal, as it's truly a masterpiece.
Is there Pre-emphasis on this CD? It sounds a bit too bright (at least to my ears...) ..
In contrast to the 2023 reissue, this one packs a bigger punch, hits harder, and rings truer, with deeper bass and crisper percussion. Fantastic quality, gorgeous vinyl with zero crackle or hiss. Strongly suggest you check it out!
The bass is missing, but apart from that, the press is flawless.
This album is absolutely fantastic. I play it non-stop whenever I can. The production quality is decent, but it's not exceptional.
