I'm puzzled why this album isn't getting more love! It's a fantastic, high-energy live performance by Jimmy McGriff. He knocks it out of the park with a fantastic take on Ellington's "In a Mellow Tone," and transforms the often-covered "Ode to Billie Joe" into a wild, funky workout. McGriff's "Groove Alley" is an amazing slow-burning track. O'Donel Levy shines on guitar, and Willie "Saint" Jenkins delivers an incredible drum performance. My copy is in fantastic condition - the vinyl looks brand new, and the jacket is still in the plastic...with a "SPECIAL BUY $1.00 SUTTON RECORD CO." sticker on it. I paid ten times that amount and feel like I got a steal. I'm absolutely in love with this concert from beginning to end. The recording quality is excellent, giving each instrument plenty of space, and this pressing has a warm, ambient sound with great range throughout.
