Am I looking at the BMG Club edition's entry here? My version has the code D 115760. It's released under the RCA label but was put out by BMG Distribution, with a copyright from '96.
I played this MASTERDISK RL edition—pressed on Quiex vinyl—on my system: AT440MLa stylus, records cleaned with the Humminguru, slight EQ via Schiit Loki, all connected to my classic Bose 601 speakers. The cozy and natural midrange of the 601s match Ludwig’s mastering perfectly. Even with the early digital synths and drum machines, the album was recorded and mixed to analog tape, and it definitely shines through. The dynamics are vibrant, the gated drums pack a real punch, and the synth layers spread wide across the soundstage without ever getting harsh. Vocals are perfectly placed front and center. This Quiex pressing offers a rich, vivid 1984 sonic experience—truly an audiophile hidden treasure.
Great album with an audiophile vibe. Packed with digital sounds, yet it feels like everything was laid down on an analog master tape.
I'm on the same page as dameoofthealps. Picked this up fresh off the press when it launched. It's a sturdy, well-crafted record, H & O delivering as usual, it'll keep your house party grooving with that 80s feel.
Great record pressing. The sound is silky smooth, and the bass on the danceable tracks is powerful and punchy. It's impressively quiet on both sides. This is one of the duo's standout tracks from the 80s. The DJ at House of Tilden in Pittsburgh used to spin the dub mix of "Out Of Touch" with strobes timed perfectly, and the dancers went wild for it.
