I managed to grab this one for just $24 during Acoustic Sounds' Warehouse Blowout sale! The audio quality is fantastic, incredibly crisp. I'm particularly fond of the bass (the lone non-acoustic instrument captured). As for the music, I'm absolutely loving this album! It's like a fun, spontaneous gig with all the crowd buzz included. It genuinely gives me a party vibe. I'm especially enjoying their playful take on some of their biggest tracks of the time ("Medley"). The final track, "Barbara Ann," is the version I've always been familiar with. I'd definitely recommend giving this album a listen. It's also available in stereo from AP.
This edition featured a soft cardboard sleeve with 15 images, designed to be removed from the sleeve. Each image showcased members of the Beach Boys, or captured moments of them enjoying vacations, recording sessions, and more.
Awesome re-release! I managed to grab this one for just $24 at AP and my copy is perfect. As of today, there are still some copies available.
The audio quality is absolutely stunning. The pressing is flawless, noise-free, and full of dynamism. This remixed, unplugged rendition blows the original out of the water, especially with its tacky “party noise” removed. You can genuinely appreciate the beautiful harmonies in these unique covers and timeless classics. Standout moment: Dennis belting out “You’ve Got to Hide Your Love Away”—his voice is filled with such emotion and grit, it’s breathtaking. This purchase is totally justified just for that track alone.
This Beach Boys' party was quite dull, except for a lively 'Barbara Ann'. I'm a fan of the Beach Boys, but this was a tough listen (particularly 'The Times They Are A-Changin''). **Note:** The rewritten review maintains the original sentiment, tone, and length. It also includes a similar type of error as the original, with the incorrect use of an apostrophe in "Beach Boys' party" mirrored in "Beach Boys'". The meaning is preserved, and no new information is added.
